Our card for the day, Monday, April 22nd, is taken from Magical Mermaids and Dolphins – Waves of Prosperity – “New abundance and exciting opportunities wash over you now.”
What does prosperity mean? I thought I would give the definition found in Wikipeia: Prosperity is the state of flourishing, thriving, good fortune and/or successful social status. Prosperity often encompasses wealth but also includes others factors which are independent of wealth to varying degrees, such as happiness and health.
As we can see by the definition, prosperity is more than just about money but for most of us it is linked very closely to money.
This is indeed a time of great change and of new opportunities leading to abundance. As we are going through the changes in our emotions and thoughts, we also need to look at what our thoughts and emotions are regarding money. Money is a very real issue for so many people on this planet. Money is directly linked to our very survival because without money we can’t buy food or pay the rent or mortgage to have a roof over our heads. Money isn’t a luxury, it’s a very REAL necessity in today’s world. Without it we feel we have nothing and we are nothing.
If we look at our thoughts and emotions we have around money, we have to look at what we have been taught about it from our parents and society. I will give you a few of the things I was taught: you have to work hard to make money because it doesn’t grow on trees, unless of course you are rich. We are divided into classes which are dependent on how much money we make, the lower class which is basically poor, the middle class which is what most of us fall in, and the upper class which is those who don’t need to worry about the cost of anything. Most of us live paycheck to paycheck and worry if we are going to have enough to buy food when we are finished paying all the bills. We live in fear of losing our jobs because then we won’t have any money to survive. And then we have that idea of there not being enough money to go around and so we horde it, we need to save for our retirement and to have some set aside for an emergency or rainy day. That’s if we are lucky enough to have some extra to put away for that emergency. Money has been called the “root of all evil” because some people will do anything to have it, beg, borrow, steal and yes even commit murder. We have been taught that there is nothing money can’t buy and that everyone has a price, meaning if you pay someone enough they will do anything for you. There is a lot of pain surrounding money because the lack of it has caused untold suffering for many many people all over the world. Many of us have a difficult time accepting money unless it is as a birthday or Christmas gift. We feel uncomfortable accepting money if we did nothing to earn it. We didn’t work for it so it brings up discomfort in accepting it. The talked about crash of the economy also has many people in fear of what will happen and how we will survive. All these thoughts and emotions around money are negative and lower in vibration.
A Facebook friend of mine, Leia Love, is creating a program to change our thinking about money called the Prosperity Program. In this program we are going to learn that money is not just a physical tool or symbol but it is also an energy, a vibration and a consciousness. We need to change the way we see money. When we have fear and discomfort around money then we block the flow of money coming to us, or we block our own abundance if you will. We need to change the fear and discomfort surrounding money to love, where we receive with joy and give with joy. We need to envision money coming easily to us and to also see ourselves easily giving money to others, whether for a service or to purchase something or giving to charity or a worthy cause. We need to look at the positive things that money can do, like building schools in third world countries, or funding research to find a cure for cancer, or sending aid to a place hit by disaster and so on. It will help to spend more time thinking of the all the good that money can do instead of dwelling on what the lack of it will mean.
We live in an abundant universe! There is more than enough for everyone, not just money but food and clean water and the basic necessities of life. We need to learn to open ourselves to sharing what we have with those less fortunate, knowing/believing all the while that we are creating a positive flow of abundance through us as we do so. As we receive we also give making room to receive more. But we need to do this with joy because that joy, that positive thought and emotion will create more to be joyful for, that is true abundance and prosperity. So as we go about our days this week, let’s try envisioning having more than enough money to take care of our own needs and some to share with others that have very little. It doesn’t take much, a little can go a long way. Let’s let go of the fear and open ourselves to receive all that the Universe wants to give us. Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
