Card For The Day

Our card for today, Friday, April 26th, is taken from the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards, Sige/Quiet Time – “Take some quiet time alone to rest, meditate, and contemplate.”

The Gnostic goddess Sige is considered to be the great silence or void from which all creation sprang.

More and more I am reading how important it is for us to take a little time each day to meditate. If we want to hear the voice of our soul, it’s not going to be heard in a loud voice above the noise and chatter of our own thoughts. We need to listen to that still small voice within our own hearts and the only way to do that is to quiet the mind and focus on the breath. It doesn’t need to be a long time, 15 minutes a day is all that it takes for us to get quiet and go within. All the answers we are looking for to make decisions in our lives can be found by listening to our higher guidance and that means quieting our minds enough to hear it. We may not hear that small voice the first time or even the third time, it takes practice and patience. So as we go about our days, let’s take a few minutes and learn to listen to our heart and soul.

If you are new to meditation, there are many great guided meditations to be found. Perhaps some nice soothing music or listening to the sounds of nature like waves or rain. You can find a lot of these things on Youtube. To make it a consistent practice we need to pick a time during the day that works best for us. For some it will be when we first get up, or on our lunch break, or right before bed. Before bed is when I meditate usually as I find it a great way to end the day and wind down before sleep. But whatever works best for you is what is important and will help you be committed to a daily practice. Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
