Our card for the day, Sunday, June 2nd, is taken from the Angel Tarot Cards – Nine of Air – “Expecting the worst. Self-fulfilling prophecies. Sleepless nights.”
The number 9 represents – “Get to work, Lightworker – now! The number 9 means that you’ve completed all of the prerequisites to achieve your life purpose. Stop procrastinating, as it’s time to start taking action steps. Even baby steps are useful.” Taken from Angel Numbers 101 by Doreen Virtue.
Sometimes it is very easy to get caught up in expecting the worst to happen when we watch or read the news, or even by being around negative people. We can get caught up in what is happening in the “real” world, the wars and rumors of war, other negative reports that would include murders and robberies, and even the increasing cost of living, such as gas or food prices. However if we do let ourselves get carried away with this negativity, let our thoughts begin to swirl around all the bad things happening in our world, that tends to be a downward spiral leading to more and more negativity. When we are in that frame of mind, then anything that might be even slightly negative that happens to us, if we just stub our toe, seems to be confirmation that bad things ARE going to happen to us. The more we dwell in negativity and fear, the more bad things do tend to happen.
Have you ever noticed if when you first get up in the morning and say you do stub your toe and then you spill your coffee or can’t find your car keys and you are running late, if you start thinking along the lines of “why is this happening to me?” or “I should have stayed in bed as this day is off to a bad start”, then it does become a self-fulfilling prophecy because the rest of the day will go just like that. However if we nip that tendency in the bud and turn the focus onto something positive, and one way to do that is to start giving thanks for all the good things we have in our lives, then what I have found is a small change or adjustment in attitude will take us out of that negativity, and will also turn the events of the day to become more positive instead of negative.
Bad or negative things do happen and we can’t always control that but we can control how we react to them. If we can keep our thoughts and attitudes on a more positive note then we have a much better chance at avoiding that downward negative spiral. Instead of worrying about what may or may not happen, we need to keep our focus on what we want to happen, remember like attracts like, so if we are negative then we attract more negative people and situations into our lives. If we are positive then we will attract positive people and situations instead and isn’t that what we all want anyways? Don’t we all want to have more positive people and circumstances in our lives? I know I do!
So this card is just a reminder that we need to be aware of what frame of mind we are in, where our thoughts are wandering off to and what attitude we are in at any given moment of the day. Remember too that we are creating our lives one thought at a time, and so if we want more to be grateful for, if we want more good things and better relationships, then we have to pay attention to what is going on in our heads and what is coming out of our mouths. If someone asks how we are, we shouldn’t go into how terrible we are feeling even if it is true. Words carry the same power and vibration as thoughts so what we should say to that question when asked is that we are doing great! I know it’s a tall order and not always easy to do but if we can be more mindful of our thoughts and what we say, we have a much better chance of creating the life and the world we so desire. Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
