Card For The Day

Our card for the day, Sunday, September 22nd, is taken from the Angel Tarot Cards – Five of Earth- “Fears surrounding money. The wisdom to accept help from others. Uncertain self-employment.”

The Suit of Earth represents the material world, careers, finances, health and taking care of Mother Earth. (Angel Tarot Cards guidebook)

The number 5 represents – “A significant change is occurring, always for the better. It’s a good idea to call upon Heaven for help with life changes.” (Angel Numbers 101)

I think it is safe to say that most of us have had fears about money at some point in our lives. I also think it’s a safe bet that those fears never completely go away even in times when we have enough. There is always that chance of something unforeseen happening that we may not have the money to take care of, or we could lose our job or whatever other source of money we have.

Then we have the saying “money can’t buy happiness” and I’m not saying it can, but if there is a lack of money, it sure creates a lot of negative emotions in us. We are constantly worried, fearful, and stressed when we can’t pay our bills or meet our obligations. We could lose our home or our cars or have to declare bankruptcy. In my mind, there is nothing positive about not having money in today’s society.

However, all that being said, we need to remember that it is those self-same fears around money that keep us from experiencing abundance. Remember we have already received the message that the universe responds to our vibrational frequency. Fear of not having enough money is only creating that reality for us. The more we focus on bills, the more bills we seem to get. The more we focus on not having enough, the more of that is created in our lives. Somehow we have to change our fears around money because until we do, we are never going to have that life of prosperity and abundance we all long for.

Here is a quote by Deepak Chopra taken from a chat with Aaron Task of The Daily Ticker. “Only 10-12% of our happiness experience comes from money,” Chopra says. “Real happiness comes when you have fulfillment, you have creative expression, you enjoy your work, you’re engaged, you make other people happy, you have meaning and purpose in your life.” (http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/daily-ticker/deepak-chopra-money-t-buy-happiness-163111912.html)

Many of the fears we have around money come from stories or beliefs we hold in our minds, rather than from real money issues. The first step in changing our thoughts and fears around money is to figure out exactly what our beliefs about money are. Many, if not all, of our beliefs about money are learned. For example, if we grew up in a home where money, or the lack thereof, was a constant topic of discussion, then our beliefs and fears around money come from that time, it’s a learned response. This will require us to take a look at our thoughts, and our fears most especially, to determine if they are rational fears or irrational. Then we need to determine how much of our happiness is dependent on how much money we have in our bank accounts. If we take into consideration the above statement by Deepak Chopra, we will most likely find that very little of our happiness is actually centered around money. This comes back to deciding what is most important to us in our lives.

Another way to look at our fears around money is to play out some possible scenarios in our minds. For example, we lose our job, now what will we do? One answer to that is to get another job. We lose our house, now what will we do? We may have to move in with relatives for a time till we get back on our feet. These are just some suggestions and I’m sure we can all find other solutions to our individual scenarios. But the point in doing this is that we will find out that our fears are much bigger than the actual scenario. We will survive and hopefully we will find that our happiness isn’t tied to money after all. By playing with some of the scenarios that we fear and finding some solutions, we just might be able to change those fears that hold us back. Then we can start working on our manifesting skills where abundance and prosperity are concerned. As long as we can keep our vibrations high, as long as we can be in a state of happiness and gratitude for all that we have right now, then manifesting more of what makes us happy should be relatively easy. The universe will then respond to our vibrations of joy and not to our vibrations of fear.

Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
