Our card for the day, Sunday, November 24th, is taken from the Archangel Oracle Cards – Nurture – Archangel Gabriel: “As you nurture a child, you nurture your own inner child. Both activities are important for you now.”
Oh to return to the innocence of childhood when all most of us had to worry about was having as much fun as possible! This is why we are being guided to spend time with children, to love them and take care of them. The more time we spend with children, our own or someone else’s children, the more we help our own inner child heal from the wounds of our own childhoods.
We all have suffered some kind of hurt as a child, some intentional and most unintentional. As adults we have mostly forgotten our own inner child who still has some affect on our emotions. For example, our inner child’s fear of abandonment affects our relationships with others. We hold back in giving of ourselves and our love in fear of being left. Most don’t recognize that. However many of our issues as adults find their source in our childhood and so it would make sense to help our inner child heal his/her fears.
When we spend time with children nurturing them and engaging in play time with them, it helps our inner child feel safe and loved. If we don’t have access to children then we can spend time talking to our inner child just as we would to a child before us. We can tell him/her how much we love them and that we won’t do anything to cause them to be hurt or abandoned. We can do things like play as if we were still a child ourselves. For example, we can draw or color with paper and crayons or finger painting or any of a number of similar activities. I’m sure we can remember things that we loved to do as children that we can spend a little time doing now, knowing that as we do so we are helping our inner child heal and feel safe and loved.
I will share something with you that I have done now on two separate occasions. We have had 2 snowfalls within the past 2 weeks. Not much and it didn’t last, but both times I happened to look out the window and everything was white with big fluffy snowflakes falling. So I got all excited and said to my daughter “It’s snowing outside! Let’s go for a walk!” So we bundled up with our winter coats, boots, hats and gloves, and dressed up our 2 dogs and off we went. One of the dogs loves the snow, she runs and slides and rolls around in the snow till she is all white with it and we laugh at her antics. We had fun! Now you must understand that in Newfoundland, Canada, we get a lot of snow in the winter and most of the time when I think of snow I don’t use fun as a word to describe it. Especially by the end of winter and hours and hours of shoveling. But for now it’s been fun, and we made it fun and behaved like kids.
When we have fun like this, we are expressing joy and that joy puts us in a higher vibration which again is drawing to us more things to be joyful for. Do you see how so many things, so many areas of our lives, are all interconnected? It is, and we are connected to everything and everyone on this planet and in the entire universe. So let’s start having some fun as often as we can. Let’s allow our inner child to come out and play and, in doing so, we know that we are also healing ourselves in the process. Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
