Card For Today

Eight of Raphael

Our card for today, Wednesday, May 7th, is taken from the Archangel Power Tarot Cards – Eight of Raphael – “There is something better waiting for you! Do what you know is right for you. A spiritual quest.”

The Suit of Raphael represents falling in love, getting married, and having children. It also represents our dreams, hopes, and deep desires, as well as the development and expression of psychic abilities and intuition. Archangel Raphael has a history of heralding love and important relationships in people’s lives. (Archangel Power Tarot Cards guidebook)

The number 8 represents: “The number 8 signifies abundance and prosperity. The endless loops in the number signify an infinite flow of money, time, ideas, or whatever else you require (especially for your life purpose).” (Angel Numbers 101)

Many people hold onto relationships that no longer serve them for a variety of reasons. Some stay in marriages because of the kids, some stay because they don’t know if they can make it on their own, some stay because this is all they have known and change scares them. Some hold onto people because better this person than not having anyone. Some think “what if I leave and I don’t find someone else, then I will be alone”. Perhaps the person has led us to believe that we are lucky we have them because no one else could possibly love us. Sometimes it happens that one person grows in ways the other person can’t keep up with or has no interest in. Then they grow apart. I’m sure there are many more reasons why people remain in relationships that no longer work or perhaps never worked.

This card is telling us that we can and we need to let go because something better will come. However a new relationship can’t happen if we are still holding onto an old one. We can’t receive when our hands are already full. We know in our hearts when something isn’t right for us by how it feels to us. Remember, our feelings are our Inner Being’s guidance to us. If something no longer feels good or brings us joy then it is time to let go. Perhaps the person will return in a new way, because when we hold on at all costs we both remain stuck in old energy in the relationship. Sometimes it takes distancing ourselves from the other person to gain a new perspective on the relationship. Sometimes distance forces growth on one or both persons involved. People change.

However sometimes people move on and we are the ones that were left. Then we question ourselves, we question our worthiness, or what was wrong with us that this person left us. Sometimes we try to fight for the relationship even when it is clear that it is over. But again, what we need to do is let go. Stop trying to get someone to come back who has walked away. Perhaps their leaving was orchestrated by our angels or guides because the relationship wasn’t serving us. And if that is the case then winning them back isn’t in our best interest, it’s not for our highest good or theirs. It would be better for us to accept that it’s over and then be open to someone new to come into our lives that will now be a match to who we have become.

Sometimes it happens because we need to stop depending on someone else to define who we are, or to take care of us. Sometimes we have to learn to be strong and stand on our own two feet. The best relationships are between two sovereign beings, two strong people who know who they are and where they are going. They realize that they have much in common, their values, their beliefs and so on. Their lives mesh and complement each other. What one lacks the other has, where one is weak the other is strong. You get the idea I’m sure.

So it’s time, if we find ourselves in relationships that no longer serve us, to let go, and then we are free and open for a much better relationship, one that will serve us, to manifest. It requires strength to do so but it will be very worth it in the end!

Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
