This card is about strengthening the bonds we have with the people in our lives. One of the best ways to strengthen the bonds with others is to first strengthen the bond with our inner self. When we take the time to work on our relationship with ourselves then we have a stronger foundation for our relationships with others. We can’t give to another what we don’t give to ourselves.
So many of us don’t love ourselves. That’s why we enter into relationships with the sole purpose of having someone give to us what we haven’t been able to give to ourselves. We have it backwards. We should first love ourselves with all our hearts, even all the little bits of us that we wish we could change, as well as the physical, mental and emotional parts of us. We can’t truly expect someone else to love us until we can give that same love to ourselves.
When we can love ourselves for all that we are and all that we are not, then we are whole and we don’t need someone to complete us, we are already complete within our own beings. We should come to relationships from this place of wholeness and then we won’t have this needy side to us that is in need of someone to give to us what we can’t or won’t give to ourselves, and that is often forgiveness.
We are often better at forgiving others who have wronged us then we are at forgiving ourselves for any wrongs we have committed, whether real or imagined. What we need to remember is that we did the best we could in any given moment with the knowledge we had at the time. We deserve our own forgiveness as much as anyone else does.
When we have done all the inner work on ourselves, when we can look in the mirror and tell ourselves “I love you!” and truly mean it from the depths of our beings, then and only then are we prepared for a true soul mate relationship. When these two come together, they are two whole, two sovereign beings.
So as we do our inner work and heal all the broken and wounded parts in ourselves, we have so much more to bring to our relationships. We know who we are and what we want in a relationship. We are exuding calmness and assurance and stability. We are able to be our authentic selves and allow others to be the same with total acceptance. From this place of inner peace and confidence, we are able to build and maintain strong loving relationships with the people in our lives.
Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
