Happy New Year! Our card for today, Friday, January 2nd, is taken from my brand new deck of cards that I received as a Christmas gift from my lovely daughter, the Guardian Angel Tarot Cards – Five of Emotion – “Forgiveness is an important part of healing. Forgive yourself and those around you for any mistakes of the past so that everyone can move forward. Grieving is a normal part of life. Ask your angels or those you love to help you move through the process quickly so that you can get back on the path to joy.”
5 represents – “A significant change is occurring, always for the better. It’s a good idea to call upon Heaven for help with life changes.” (Angel Numbers 101)
Why is it that we so often find it hard to forgive those around us for mistakes or misunderstandings? We tend to hold onto it and use it to continue to make them feel bad. Sometimes when we are arguing about something that just happened, we go back and dredge up every wrong they have ever committed to add to their shame. I have read that because we forgive doesn’t mean we have to forget the wrong done to us. However if we don’t forgive and then forget, it seems that we keep forgiving that same wrong over and over again.
It’s time now as we move into this new year of 2015 that we should try our best to not only forgive whatever has been done to us that caused us pain or grief, but also to forget it, put it behind us, and then and only then can we move forward with our lives without dragging this old stuff, this baggage that is best left behind, with us.
Sometimes the one that most needs our forgiveness is ourselves. When we make mistakes, or make wrong decisions or choices, we can keep going back over those things and use them to beat up on ourselves. We tell ourselves that we are stupid, or weak, or any number of other things that apply to any given situation. It is only in forgiving ourselves, and putting those things in the past, can we ever hope to love ourselves.
If we have lost someone, either a person just walking away from us or from death, this too is something that we need to forgive. And yes we often blame the person who passed for having left us, so we do need to forgive them for leaving. Grief is a process and not one to be hurried, but if we find ourselves stuck in our grief, then we can ask our angels and loved ones to help us accept the loss and start living our lives again.
Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
