Our card for today, Monday, April 27th, is taken from the Angel Tarot Cards – Five of Water – “Things not turning out the way you’d hoped. Not seeing the positive in a situation. Crying over spilled milk.”
5 represents – “A significant change is occurring, always for the better. It’s a good idea to call upon Heaven for help with life changes.” (Angel Numbers 101)
It is very difficult when we have our hearts set on something, and it doesn’t work out the way we would have liked, to not be upset about it. In spiritual circles we are asked to not hold onto expectations, but how do we go through life without expectations? I am not sure it is possible, but we do need to be gentle with ourselves, and not get angry with ourselves for being upset when things fall apart.
It is only human to hope for the things we feel would make us happy, and therefore it is only human to feel grief when things don’t happen the way we hoped they would. We get angry at God for not answering our prayers. We also get angry at ourselves too, blaming ourselves for having done something wrong, or for not being worthy, or for some other reason we can think of. But the truth is, some things aren’t meant to work out for us because they are not meant for us.
It can be a hard pill to swallow but sometimes when God doesn’t give us what we want or, as we often feel, that He didn’t answer our prayers, sometimes He is doing us a favor. Perhaps if we had gotten that job, or if that person fell in love with us, we might have been more unhappy than we are when we don’t get what we want. We need to remember that we can’t see the big picture, or not the totality of it. When we wish or pray for something, we can’t know what the end result will be, but God does, and so we need to trust that when He says no and closes the door, it’s for a very good reason. Usually it means that something better is coming and in the end we will be glad that we didn’t get that job or that person or whatever else it was we had hoped for.
So we need to trust that God always has our highest and best good in mind when He says no to something we had our hearts set on. We need to remember that He sees and knows all, and so He knows what is best for us. So instead of crying over spilled milk when we don’t get our way, we should be grateful that we have been spared more pain and sorrow down the road. We just need to be patient while God brings to us what is a better match to who we are now and to who we are becoming. Remember, sometimes “No” is the most loving answer.
Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
