Our card for today, Wednesday, October 7th, is taken from the Guardian Angel Tarot Cards – Guardian of Thought – “You may be called upon to be a spokesperson for a cause close to your heart. Your angels will give you the perfect words, and you’ll do brilliantly. You may be asked to be a mentor or find one yourself. This situation involves someone who’s professional, with a positive attitude and fresh ideas. This person (who could by you) may be emotionally unavailable.”
The Suit of Thought – represents our perceptions, the ways in which we manage our personal truths and integrity, concerns about justice and fairness, and the impact of the Law of Attraction in our lives. Our minds are powerful tools that can either work for us or work against us depending on whether we choose an optimistic and hopeful approach or allow ourselves to fall into pessimism and fear. The vast majority of worry is unnecessary, so the Suit of Thought tries to point out to us when we’ve accidentally allowed our mental chatter to go awry. These cards also refer to how we communicate with others. They ask us to be kind with our words and to remember to speak our truth in a way we’d like to hear others speak theirs. (Guardian Angel Tarot Cards Guidebook)
This card is telling us that we need to be very careful with what we choose to say and how we say it. If there is one thing I have learned in this life, the meaning of words can be misconstrued, whether spoken or written. What a word means to us and what it means to someone else can be radically different and so we need to pay attention to our words because they have the power to uplift or to destroy, and once spoken can never be taken back. All the “I’m sorry” one can say will never take back the hurt inflicted by our words.
So whatever situation we find ourselves in, we need to take care of what words we use to convey what it is we want to say. We can ask the angels to help us choose the most appropriate words to impart the true meaning of what it is we want to say. And no matter what it is we want to say and no matter who it is we are talking to, always remember that we are talking to God because we all carry the spark of the Divine within us. No matter what the other person is saying, we need to listen with our hearts and not with our ego’s on full alert looking for its chance to get a word in that may only escalate any tension between us and the other person. We need to choose our words wisely and with compassion if we want to be heard as a person who is here to teach love and peace on this planet. So as the old adage goes, “think before you speak”.
“Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.”
Proverbs 17:28 American King James Bible
