Our card for today, Friday, February 5th, is taken from the Indigo Angel Oracle Cards – Dreams.
We often receive messages and guidance in our dreams, the trick however is to be able to recall our dreams. One of the things necessary for recalling our dreams is to keep a dream journal. Keep the journal and a pen close to your bed so that as soon as you wake up you can write down anything you remember about your dreams. Generally once we get out of bed and start our days, the dream, or dreams, start to fade, so it means maybe waking a few minutes earlier so we have time to write down what we remember before we do anything else. If we have difficulty remembering anything we have dreamed, then it might be best to start with an affirmation before we go to sleep, something like “I will remember my dreams and record them”. Of course some dreams will make no sense even if we remember them, but that’s okay, still write them down because there may be a hidden message in there somewhere that we will discover at a later time. It is helpful to go back through our dream journal and read some of the dreams we have had because we might be surprised to find that even though it didn’t make sense at the time, perhaps something in the dream happened to us in our waking life.
Some people like to use herbs to help with dream recall, Mugwort and Calea Zacatechichi are two such herbs, but there are others. And of course before taking any herbs, consult your physician as some herbs do interact with some medications if you are taking any. There are also herbs you can put in a “dream pillow” so that you don’t have to worry about ingesting them. Here are a couple of ideas of what herbs to put in a dream pillow depending on the type of dream you are hoping to have, and on the site listed below you will also find instructions for making a dream pillow:
- To inspire vivid and creative dreams – use a combination of Rose petals, Mugwort, Hops, Lemon Verbena, Lemongrass, Jasmine, Mimosa, Mint, Cloves, Orange peel and Marjoram.
- To help promote lucid dreams – use a combination of the essential oils Clove, Mugwort, Anise and Clary Sage in your scent pillow. Another good combination for your lucid dream pillow is: Rose, Helichrysum, Sandalwood, Palo Santo and Patchouli.

And of course if you can’t remember your dreams at first, try not to get frustrated and give up, as with all things, practice makes perfect. Pleasant dreams!
Have a great weekend everyone! ~Namaste~
