Our card for today, Thursday, April 28th, is taken from the Magical Times Empowerment Cards – Discernment – “See the truth of the situation. Use common sense and do not be fooled. Pay attention, your intuition knows.”
We are being asked to be cautious as to what we read or hear or see as not everything is truth. In today’s world of technology, it is easy to put anything on the internet and claim it as being true, even photos. As an example, I have used online dating sites from time to time and most of them are crawling with dating scammers. These are generally men, even if the photo is of a woman, who prey on the unsuspecting people who are only looking for love. These scammers will draw you in by writing beautiful words about themselves and their lives and what they are looking for in a partner. The photos they post are usually of handsome men and beautiful women, although I have noticed lately that they are using photos of more average looking people. Luckily I can usually tell right from the beginning if the person who has contacted me is a scammer or not. They are getting better at it however, so sometimes it can be hard to tell. These scammers are even on Facebook. So it’s very important to be cautious when meeting someone new online as not everyone is who they claim to be.
Now dating sites are not the only place where we find people putting forth ideas that they claim to be truth that if researched enough can be proven to be false. The New Age, or esoteric, or spiritual community is no exception. There are many people out there who claim to be channeling an Archangel, or Ascended Master, or extraterrestrial, or some other entity who has THE TRUTH. We live in an age of many “false prophets”, and so we must use our own inner guidance, and yes even our common sense, to know if some person, or teaching, or article is in fact true. So whether it’s a dating site, or a blog, or whatever, listen to what your intuition or your gut is telling you. If you are not sure, then do as I do sometimes and take a sentence from an e-mail or an article that I feel is questionable and paste it into Google search, or whatever search engine you use, and see what comes up. I have found many things that were untrue or were originally written by someone else by doing this. So if it doesn’t feel right to you, chances are it isn’t true or the person claiming to have written it found it somewhere else. If we use our discernment, we will be less likely to be taken advantage of.
Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
