Card For Today

Our card for today, Wednesday, May 25th, is taken from the Wisdom of the House Of Night Oracle Cards – Grove – “I, Nyx, the Goddess of Night, invite you to my grove to heal your wounds and mend your heart.”

We have all been hurt at one time or another, often by people we have loved and trusted, and so we know it doesn’t necessarily have to be strangers or enemies who hurt us. But this card is a reminder that being in nature is the best cure for healing emotional wounds of any kind, whether that’s a broken heart from the loss of a loved one either through death or the breakup of a relationship, or having gone through a disagreement with someone we love, even family members.

There is nothing more soothing for a troubled heart and mind than a long walk on the beach or in a wooded area. Nature has a way of bringing us back to our center, our heart. When we walk along the beach and feel the sand in our toes, and listen to the sound of the waves as they roll ashore; or walk through the woods hearing the song of birds, and the rustle of the leaves on the trees, and inhaling that earthy smell, all of this is a reminder of how temporary some things may be, and yet also reminding us that life does in fact go on, even if we wish at times it didn’t.

Nature also reminds us that there is still beauty to be found in the world amidst the sadness and grief, if we have the eyes to see and the ears to hear. So Gaia has a way of calming our minds and healing our hearts through the timelessness that we find as we walk among her many creatures. For everything there is a season, just like the seasons of the earth, and this reminds us that after the bitter cold of winter, the sun will shine again and new opportunities will blossom once we have taken the time to heal.

Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
