Our card for today, Friday, June 17th, is taken from the Loving Words from Jesus Card Deck – “According to your faith be it unto you.” (Matthew 9:29)
First I just want to add the verses before what is written on this card to put this into context:
27And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. 28And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 30And their eyes were opened; (www.kingjamesbibleonline.org)
So we see from this that the first words Jesus said to the two blind men when they asked Him to have mercy on them was “Believe ye that I am able to do this?” From this we learn that we can only receive what we believe He can do for us. If we ask Jesus or God for anything and doubt that He will give it to us or that He can give it to us, then we have already set ourselves up to not receive what we asked for. Do you understand this??
If we are going to ask Jesus or God for anything, then we must believe with all that we are that we will receive it. If we let any doubt in at all, then we have compromised our ability to receive what we asked for. It’s not ever that God or Jesus can’t give us what we ask for, it’s our own unbelief that we can have it. Perhaps our unbelief comes from our own belief that we are not good enough, who are we to ask God or Jesus for something, even if it is only something small? We have been taught from childhood in most of the major religions on this planet that we are dirty, that we are sinners, that we are not fit to come before God. We have also been taught that we are insignificant in the eyes of our Creator, that with all the life on this planet and in our universe and beyond, why would God pay any attention to one person?
Oh dear friends, the lies we have been told make it hard for anyone to believe that Jesus or God could possibly care about us or our concerns, needs or wants. And yet Jesus came here to tell us that each and every one of us is precious beyond measure to God our Father. It is beyond our ability to understand how much He loves each one of us, and that His love for us is not dependent on what we do or don’t do, or what we believe or don’t believe, or how much we have “sinned”. God sees us all through the eyes of LOVE, it’s just that simple. Let me put it this way, if your child does something wrong, do you love them any less? Of course not! So why would we believe that our Heavenly Father would be any different?
Let me put it another way, we are pieces of God. When we are in spirit, we are part of the soup that is God, it’s like being a drop of water in the ocean. We have our own individual spark inside that soup, but we are still God. Jesus said this, that we are God’s children just as He is. So if we believe what Jesus said, why would we then disbelieve that God or Jesus would give us what we ask for? Now is it beginning to make sense? So when we ask for anything, from the smallest to the greatest thing we can imagine, if we believe that God loves us and will give us anything we ask for, then it would stand to reason that we can rest assured that what we asked for is on it’s way. As long as we have faith, nothing is impossible!
Have a great weekend everyone! ~Namaste~
