Card For Today

Our card for today, Tuesday, March 7th, is taken from the Wisdom of the House of Night Oracle Cards – Listening – “Drawing this symbol indicates that you are meant to listen to what others are saying with their gestures, rather than their words.”

The first thing that comes to my mind when I read that message is “talk is cheap”. I’m sure we have all been taken in by someone’s words only to find that what they say means nothing compared to their actions. Anyone can say the words “I love you” or “I promise” and if we are unaware of their motives or their truth, we may well indeed believe what comes out of their mouths, especially if we love the person saying the words. However what we should be paying attention to is not the words they speak, but what they do or what they show us by their actions.

So what this card is telling us is to not be hasty in our belief of words spoken, no matter how sincere the speaker may seem, but to watch their body language as they speak, their gestures, and then wait and see if their actions match their words. I know how hard this can be especially for those of us who always look for the good in the people, but to not pay attention to body language and actions can sometimes lead to disillusionment and even heartache. Just be observant and aware that actions do speak louder than words, and so if someone says “I love you”, but their actions tell a different story, it’s time to walk away.

Side note: if you can’t see the words printed on the card by the female here is what they say “…darkness does not always equate to evil….light does not always bring good.”

Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
