Card For Today

Djwal Khul - Dharma Unfolding

Our card for today, Wednesday, January 24th, is taken from the Keepers of the Light Oracle Cards – Djwal Khul, Dharma Unfolding – “Remember that you are on a path. Take one step at a time to happiness.”

We all want to be happy right now, not sometime in the future, although a lot of us think we will be happy when we get that house, or car, or latest gadget, or if we find our true love. We always seem to be putting our happiness off till something happens in our lives, like maybe when we retire and can travel more. The time to be happy is now and the way to do that is to start taking the necessary steps to be happy like doing things that we love to do. Have you read that quote “Happiness is an inside job”? It is, it is up to us to BE happy right now.

We can’t depend on people, or things, or circumstances to make us happy. If we do that then we are giving our power away. It comes back to loving ourselves enough to make the time to do the things that bring us joy. If we keep putting off doing what we love to do until some specific time in the future like retirement, then we are depriving ourselves of happiness right now. Plus no one knows how long they have on this planet. I have worked with and known people who were waiting till they retired to go visit some place they longed to go, or to do something else they wanted to do, then just before their retirement date or just after, they passed away before they had the chance to take that trip or whatever it was they were waiting to do.

There is a post I see on Facebook now and then that says “Don’t keep those dishes or that outfit for a special occasion, the special occasion is being alive so use them now”. So the moral of the story is to not wait for some future time to be happy, be happy now!

Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
