Card For Today

Our card for today, Tuesday, January 30th, is taken from the Wisdom of the Oracle Divination Cards – Observer – Essential Meanings: perspective; objectivity; neutral observation from a distance.

This card is asking us to take a step back and look at any situation we face from the perspective of the other person/s involved. Everything is not about us or just our own wants and needs, it’s also about the wants and needs of each individual involved in the situation. Can we be objective instead of feeling wronged or attacked or betrayed? Can we look at the situation from the other person’s point of view and maybe better understand why they acted or spoke in the way they did? Instead of reacting to something in anger right away, can we take a step back and be the objective observer for a few moments? We might find that what was said or done was not about us at all, but about the pain the other person is experiencing.

There is a saying that hurt people hurt people. There was a post on Facebook I saw the other day that said: “The children who need love the most will always ask for it in the most unloving ways” – Russel Barkley. Aren’t we all children at heart no matter how old we are? Maybe instead of being angry or hurt, we should be more compassionate and empathetic towards those who hurt us. Not all of us grew up in loving homes with loving families. Not all the people we come in contact with grew up in the same culture that we did. There are many reasons why some people act the way they do, but often any negative behavior is either a cry for help or for love. Love is always the answer to any question or situation. Give more love, not less.

Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~
