Card For The Weekend

Knock and it shall be opened unto you

Our card for the weekend, April 28th & 29th, is taken from the Loving Words from Jesus Card Deck – Knock, and it shall be opened unto you – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7 NIV)

This appears to be a continuation of yesterday’s card reading where I said that our prayers are heard and answered. In this card Jesus is telling us to ask and we will receive, to seek and we will find, and to knock and the door will be opened. And He continues on in verses 9 to 11 – “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” So now the question is, do we realize yet how loved we are?

If we ask God for something, and even though we may not receive an answer right away, or even if God says no to our request, what exactly does that mean? We can go back to yesterday’s reading in which I said that sometimes the timing is off for one reason or another. This will delay our receiving what we asked God for, which doesn’t mean we won’t get it, but that we must be patient and trust with faith that we will receive it when the time is right, the Divine Right Time. If the answer is no, then it means God has something even more amazing for us than whatever it is we asked for. The thing is, can we be open to receive this more amazing blessing He has in store for us. Are we going to sulk and pout like children because we didn’t get that thing we wanted so badly, and in the process turn our backs on, or throw away, the gift He is giving us instead?

We forget that God knows us, really KNOWS us, better than we know ourselves and that means He knows what is best for us as well. So while we are asking for this person or thing, and God says “no, I have something better in mind for you that you are going to love even more”, do we ignore it or throw it back at Him because it isn’t exactly what we wanted? If we do then we have no idea how much God loves us. As the verse above states, if we asked for a fish, would God give us a snake? NO, of course not! But we may get a different kind of fish then the one we wanted because God knows it is better for us. This is just an analogy but you get the meaning of it I’m sure.

We need to be open, open in heart and mind, to receive what God knows is best for us, whatever or whomever that may be. It may not be exactly what or who we asked for, but you can rest assured it will be a whole lot better and more right for us than what we originally asked for. It’s like when we are looking for the perfect mate, be that a soul mate or a Twin Flame. We think we already know who that is and yet that person continually ignores us or treats us badly, but we hang on in the hopes that one day he or she will wake up and smell the coffee and realize it is us they love.

However I have learned from a couple of sources that our Twin Flame is first and foremost a stream of consciousness and that if it doesn’t work out with the one we thought was our Twin or soul mate, we have not lost our chance at union with our Twin, that consciousness can come through someone else for us. We get so hung up on it having to be this one person that we lose sight of what God has in store for us. I have heard of people walking away from someone amazing because he or she was not their Twin Flame. Because their Twin now chose to come in a different form than the one they believed to be their Twin, they rejected that person. I believe this is why some say we have more than one Twin Flame or soul mate because in truth the consciousness of our Twin Flame or soul mate is not limited to one person and one person only, which is only our perception of the way things work.

We continually limit ourselves when we do this with anything that comes our way because we are so stuck on it having to be this certain way or not at all. We need to be open to what God has for us when it comes to the answer to our prayers. If we remain closed, then we may be missing out on the best thing that could happen to us. So when we pray for anything, we need to have faith and trust yes, but we also need to be open and ready to accept the answer to our prayer, even if it comes in a form we didn’t expect.

Have a great weekend everyone! ~Namaste~
