Our card for today, Tuesday, May 15th, is taken from the Magical Unicorns Oracle Cards – Teamwork – “Work with others to make this situation come about.”
This card is a reminder that no matter what situation we face, we don’t have to face it alone. There is no shame in asking others for help with something. Contrary to popular belief, asking for help is not a sign of weakness. We seem to forget that we are all here for a purpose and that purpose is to help and to love one another. Nothing about our lives on this planet is meant to be a solo venture, it’s all about team effort. Of course there are things we can do alone for ourselves, but anything worthwhile requires the added support of other people, our families, our friends, our co-workers, and sometimes even strangers.
In today’s competitive world, it’s easy to get caught up in doing things alone, we are always striving to prove that we are better at something than anyone else might be. However that is what we are conditioned by society to believe, that life is about competition, but it’s not. If we were meant to be on our own, we wouldn’t have this drive to find that special someone to share our lives with. If we were meant to be alone, we wouldn’t want to have friends or families. We do our best when we are part of a team.
We all have something we are good at, our own unique talents and gifts. It doesn’t matter if someone else is doing the same thing that we are because we are all adding our own unique “flavor” to it, and yet all of us are needed or it wouldn’t be so. It’s like my way of reading the cards, there are many other card readers out there and we all have our own unique take on it. It doesn’t mean we have to be in competition with each other because some people will resonate more with one reader than another and that’s perfectly okay. We are all helping to spread light and love on this planet and that’s what it’s all about.
So remember we are all part of a team on this earth, and each member of the team has their own way of doing things and each one is just as important as another. We are meant to work together for the good of all. We are not meant to fight over resources on this planet, we are not meant to fight over whose religion is the right one as we do all worship the same God, and we are not meant to think that any particular skin color is better than another person’s skin color, because again we are all bringing something unique to the team. We need to be more accepting of each other and honor each other’s unique way of being instead of trying to make everyone think or behave or believe as we do. Humanity is a team because we are all connected, and so we all should be working together as a team to make this world a better place for us all.
Have a great day everyone! ~Namaste~

PS: In talking about skin color, I was reminded of this poem I read many years ago by William Blake:
The Little Black Boy
BY WILLIAM BLAKE
My mother bore me in the southern wild,
And I am black, but O! my soul is white;
White as an angel is the English child:
But I am black as if bereav’d of light.
My mother taught me underneath a tree
And sitting down before the heat of day,
She took me on her lap and kissed me,
And pointing to the east began to say.
Look on the rising sun: there God does live
And gives his light, and gives his heat away.
And flowers and trees and beasts and men receive
Comfort in morning joy in the noonday.
And we are put on earth a little space,
That we may learn to bear the beams of love,
And these black bodies and this sun-burnt face
Is but a cloud, and like a shady grove.
For when our souls have learn’d the heat to bear
The cloud will vanish we shall hear his voice.
Saying: come out from the grove my love & care,
And round my golden tent like lambs rejoice.
Thus did my mother say and kissed me,
And thus I say to little English boy.
When I from black and he from white cloud free,
And round the tent of God like lambs we joy:
Ill shade him from the heat till he can bear,
To lean in joy upon our fathers knee.
And then I’ll stand and stroke his silver hair,
And be like him and he will then love me.
